iCOON will temporarily transform into an art lab in the coming weeks. Four makers will investigate at iCOON how they can use wool, fabric, water and light, recycled plastic, paper or felt to create a design to soften the acoustics inside iCOON.
In the weekend of 10 and 11 August, iCOON will start installing the art lab ZACHT. In the four weekends that follow, four artists/designers will investigate on site how the acoustics of iCOON's concrete bunker can be softened.
THE ARTISTS
The 4 artists/designers are The New Raw, Ivo Schouten, Tineke Bruijnzeels and AKMAR. Every weekend one or two of them will be present to experiment with a specific material and its impact.
EXPERIMENT
The art lab is an experiment by these makers who investigate on location how they can use their material and design language to soften the acoustics of iCOON in a special way.
They investigate the influence and effect of water and light, recycled plastic, paper and felt, wood and wool and make a proposal for a structural solution.
The best proposal is expected to be implemented.
ARTLAB SOFT
The artlab that we are temporarily, starts on Saturday 10 August with the construction and lasts until Sunday 8 September. Due to the special character, the entrance fee is 7.50 euros these weekends.
